...on Poggio II.

SEATTLE - An arbitrator threw out the results of Wednesday's disputed equestrian event, which means the bronze medal will go to Amy Tryon of Duvall, Wash., it was announced early Saturday.
Tryon and her horse Poggio were part of the U.S. team that finished fourth in the competition. Right after the event, the winning German team was accused of a violation that would have dropped them to fourth place.
After a couple of flip flops in the results, the whole thing ended up in arbitration. Finally, on Saturday, the arbitrator ruled against the Germans, moving the U.S. up a notch into the bronze medal.
Tryon was on a plane to London when the news broke but she spoke to KING 5 News by phone when she arrived at Heathrow Airport.
“I’m definitely excited that they righted a wrong," she said. "I think it’s an unfortunate thing that they didn’t correct the mistake when it happened originally...but the wheels of justice came through.”
Though she didn’t feel especially cheated by not being able to receive her medal in Athens, she said she felt bad for her family and supporters who had come all the way from Seattle, and those who were watching the event from home.
“There are so many people who help you get to this point that you want them to be able to see it happen as well, so I feel unfortunate for them, but for myself it doesn’t really matter to me, I’m okay with it,” she said.
Tryon expects to be back in Seattle on Sept. 6. She will return to work as a firefighter with Eastside Fire and Rescue.
Congratulations to Amy Tryon and the former Portland Meadows competitor, Poggio II.
